Adaptive Rowing
What is Adaptive Rowing?
Adaptive rowing is the sport of sweep rowing or sculling for people with physical or intellectual impairments. An adaptive rower is a rower who requires modifications to equipment, coaching and program structure to allow for maximum functionality of the rowing stroke.
An adaptive rower may be a person who has, but is not limited to, Autism, limb amputation, joint limitations, blindness, visual impairment, paraplegia, quadriplegia, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Down syndrome, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Program Info
When: Sundays at 9:15 (an additional day will be added for on-the-water seasons)
Where: On water sessions are held at the Rogue Rowing Boathouse at 175 Emigrant Lake Rd. in Ashland. Land sessions are held at the Rogue Rowing Speed Lab at 1908 Ashland St. in Ashland.
Program Dates: We row or erg year round
Cost: $28 per month for one session per week, sliding scale scholarships are available. FREE introductory session to meet some of the coaches and try out the rowing machine--just contact us!
